As classic and beautiful as it is useful, this 14k gold Victorian watch pendant is imbued with an air from the age of the 1860s.
Weighty and highly detailed, the watch contrasts a deeply chased floral motif gold work with highly polished surfaces and a fleur de lis design.
Inset with 9 old single cut diamonds, the fleur de lis glistens with tiny points of light (.12 carats total, H-I color, VS2-SI1 clarity).
The perimeter's ornate border matched the same on the watch's bow. Petite flowers live amid curls and swirls of gold.
The watch itself was made by the Waltham Watch Co. in Massachusetts. No longer in business, it produced this watch in 1864, as its serial number can be traced to that date. There were only 100 of these exact models (the watch not the case) made and it is 11 jewels.
Serviced, it still runs and has a second hand as a separate dial as well. The white dial is in fine condition with numbers at each hour, then smaller red numbers above.
