The later years of the 1800s for some decades up to around 1920, saw the renaissance of pocket watch and in particular the woman's feminine sized dress pocket watch.

Never before had small pocket watches been adorned with so many gemstones and diamonds.

This French example is a heavenly timepiece that is worthy of wearing as a pendant at any time. Natural rich blue sapphires and radiant diamonds appoint the front cover, the bow (handle), and encircle the dial.

A checkerboard of these no-heat sapphires interplay with diamonds on the cover. Notice the exquisite hand painted enamel dial with both Roman numbers and numbers.
