This was such an amazing setting, it was all that we could do not to cast it to reproduce others.
But in this case, it is a vintage setting by the former firm of M.B. Bryant of Newark, N.J. Their distinctive hallmark of three interlocking rings is hard to mistake.
In this case, a standout mounting of 10k yellow gold begins with a bezel of what appears to be tiny tulip flowers. Down the shoulders cascade Greek key or meander patterns.
Oriented east to west, this beauty now holds a glorious, rhodolite garnet of 1.85 carats. It is suffused with plum and purple tones and bright fuschia highlights.
Historical Note: M.B. Bryant was founded in 1885, in New York City. Later they moved to Newark, New Jersey, and were in business until around 1931.
